S1 E14: The Christmas Party Cob Pod

The last pod for 2023 is recorded at "Pod Quarters" (Sneds Annex) before our Christmas party. We have "Sir" Chris Melts as our special guest as we find out how he got involved in rugby and what keeps him going. We also have the living legend that is Andrew Murphy (Murph) as our quiz contestant of which this week's questions are quite random. We got started a tad late as our host was hot-stepping back from London from his work Xmas do, which meant the team was well hydrated by the time producer Mark gave the 3,2,1 countdown.
We are going to be taking a break until the new year so wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2024.

S1 E12: From the ”Shoffice” with CRFC Stalwart Guests

It's the 12th episode of the Cob Pod and this week we find ourselves in Mick's "Shoffice" (Shed/Office). The gang are all huddled around their mics and a bottle of Sloe Gin as if they were warming their hands around a campfire. S1 E11: The Movember to Remember

This week's recording has been done remotely as Mick is on business in Munich, so we are all dialing in via Zoom. We are in the middle of November so the Mustaches around the club are more evident, some more so than others. As such we have called in the man behind the movement and captain of the Cobham 2XVs, Oliver Fielding. We talk about mental health and get an important backstory on the catalyst for the Braemar Allstars. Our quiz this week is focused on the Laws of Rugby Union. S1 E10: The Double Double

Double guests and double digits, so we are calling this one the double double. The gang assembled to record this week’s episode at producer Mark's house on remembrance Sunday. It’s Mick's 12th Wedding Anniversary so we would like to give a massive thank you to Helen for letting him out. It’s also our 10th episode and Pete has treated us with his homemade sloe gin, which we finished. This week we zoom in on two special guests, experts in their own respective fields. Firstly joined by Dr. David Silver PhD, our very own head Physio at Cobham in his spare time, to talk about his PHD journey and HIA’s in the game we love. Secondly, we are delighted to have a legendary rugby commentator Johnnie Hammond to reflect on his experience at the WC and looking ahead to the next crop of players and to talk about his Women's Rugby Podcast. As usual we have our team hosted by Mick and his panel of rugby statisticians Pete, Blissy and Duncan.
About our guests. 
Dr David Silver PhD Dave has been the club's physio since 2009 and during that time has not only provided expert care and attention to the Cobham rugby teams but also raised much needed funds for the upgrade of the club's physio room. He was recently successful with his viva voce of his PhD thesis ‘The Challenges of Concussion Assessment, Management and Education within UK Youth Community Rugby Union.
